The Forgefix Nyloc Hexagonal Nuts are made from A2 stainless steel and incorporate a nylon component to effectively lock the nut into position on the bolt.
The nylon component has a smaller inside diameter than the actual nut. This locks the nut in place by squeezing the nylon firmly around the bolt when tightened. Unlike a standard locking washer, the Nyloc nut prevents the nut from loosening under vibration as the nylon is tightly wedged into the bolt threads and provides resistance to turning when tightened.
Their hexagonal shape is designed to be driven by a wrench (spanner) and provides excellent torque when done so.
Stainless Steel does not corrode, rust or stain with water as ordinary steel does, but despite the name it is not fully stain-proof, most notably under low oxygen, high salinity, or poor circulation environments. Stainless steel is used where both the properties of steel and resistance to corrosion are required.
APPLICATION:
Where a permanent fastening is required and loosening must be prevented by movement or vibration.
Can be used on most bolt products including HT Bolts, Carriage Bolts, Threaded Rod etc.

Zinc coatings prevent oxidation of the protected metal to create a longer lasting finish. It does this by forming a barrier and by acting as a sacrificial anode if this barrier is damaged. Zinc oxide is a fine white dust that (in contrast to iron oxide) does not trigger a breakdown of the substrate’s surface integrity as it is formed. The zinc oxide, if left intact, can act as a barrier to further oxidation, in a way similar to the protection afforded to aluminium and stainless steels by their oxide layers.

Forgefix Pronged T Nuts are a simple and effective product, offering bolting capability into various soft substrates. They are Zinc Plated for increased resistance to corrosion.
APPLICATION:
Used widely in the soft furnishing trades where strong timber connection is required. Also extensively used in Playground and Climbing Wall manufacturing.
GUIDE:
Use 6mm bolt with M6 and 8mm bolt with M8 T-Nuts. When installing the T-Nut tap home and the sharp fins pierce the substrate and fix the T-Nut firmly in place avoiding any rotation when tightening. The T-nuts can be used with many bolting products.
A T-nut, (also known as a Blind nut) is a type of nut used to fasten a wood, particle or composite materials work piece, leaving a flush surface. It has a long, thin body and a flange at one end, resembling a T in profile. The flanges of T-Nuts often have hooks or serrations on the prongs that sink into a wooden work piece, providing better retention.

These Forgefix double slotted roofing bolts are supplied with square nuts and have a low profile mushroom head. Their bright zinc plated finish increases resistance to corrosion. The bolts are therefore suitable for both interior and exterior use, and can be exposed to weather conditions without the risk of rusting.
APPLICATION:
Used in many applications other than roofing, when joining products together.
Use clearance drill sizes 1mm larger than bolt diameter.

With slotted screwdrivers it is important to ensure that the tip matches the width of the screw slot, otherwise you run the risk of damaging the screw head. Slotted screwdrivers are available with either Flared or Parallel tips. For the majority of uses the Flared tip is ideal but if the screw/bolt needs to be driven below the material surface a Parallel tip screwdriver should be used.
